The Patriot If you shall hear me out, I shall but tell you a tale, The tale of my heart. Of how your love makes me sing of how you are the soundtrack of my soul Deep, welling within my body like the beat of a steady drum arising, arising ever faster from my depths and gallows renewing my will like the fountains of youth. How I am the Patriot of your spirit and will forever fly your flag and race towards the freedom your presence so gingerly provides. But for a taste of this freedom, I would fight a thousand wars that rage for centuries. Someday, for these tribulations we face today we will have a land, a home to call our own. Until then, I remain the Patriot of your love and shall fly your flag upon my tongue and upon my heart! |
